It's not a disgrace...it's dementia - DVDs in community languages



These short films have been produced by  Why Documentaries for Multicultural Communities Council of Illawarra; Illawarra Ethnic Communities Council;  Alzheimer's Australia NSW; New South Wales. Dept. of Ageing, Disability & Home Care and the Multicultural Health Service to raise community awareness, reduce stigma and dispel myths about dementia.  

The DVDs are available in Arabic, Assyrian, Cambodian, Croatian, Portuguese, Serbian, Spanish, Ukranian and Vietnamese versions and feature carers of people living with dementia giving personal accounts, in their own language, of their experience, along with health professionals who talk about the condition and stress the importance of seeking help early.

The library has copies of these DVDs for loan, email the library on nsw.library@alzheimers.org.au to reserve a copy.
