The two-CD set offers four sessions: The Basics - Exploring the Elements of Dementia; Communication in the New Language of Alzheimer's; Behavior - the Embarassing, the Hearbreaking and the Downright Dangerous; Self Care - Finding Serenity in Acceptance. The Alzheimer's Dialogues are part talk show, part seminar and part support group. The Alzheimer's Dialogues are intimate conversations between two women - one facing the challenge of caregiving, the other offering information, compassion and coping techniques.

Living with dementia : a practical guide for families and personal carers
Written by aged care experts, including academics, nurses, medical practitioners and family advocates, Living with Dementia offers evidence-based research, supported by clear chapter outcomes, key terms and real-world vignettes. Practical strategies are integrated throughout to support caregivers, paid and unpaid, in the home environment and in residential care settings. The book offers advice on how to manage everyday activities such as feeding, toileting, personal hygiene and grooming, and coping with challenging behaviour. In recognising the needs of the whole person, mental stimulation and spirituality are also addressed. An introduction to commonly used medications, complementary therapies and effective communication strategies are provided, as well as information about caring for the dying, and most importantly, looking after you – the carer.

Carers relaxation : stretch, recharge, relax [CD]
For many carers it is hard to find the time or opportunity for relaxation.  An alternative might be to try relaxation techniques that can be practised at home at any time.  The CD details a 5-minute stretching exercise, a 10-minute
re-energising recharge, and a 20-minute unwinding and relaxing session.

Little book of care : caring for yourself whilst caring for someone else
Anyone at any time may find themselves in a caring role. Carers come from all walks of life, all ages, both genders. If you are caring for someone, this book was written for you. It shows you the way to care for yourself whilst caring for someone else, for without doubt you cannot continue to give without replenishing your own physical, mental and spiritual self.  The author spent several years caring for her partner and found the journey both richly rewarding and challenging. During the most challenging time she found herself seeking some kind of personal support for her authentic self, her soul, her innermost thoughts and feelings.
